- one Wintergreen Gaultheria essential oil -  10 ml

- one Lavandin  essential oil -  10 ml

- one Amyris essential oil  - 110 ml

- one  Arnica macerated botanical complex vegetable oil - 10 mL

For your effort to go hand-in-hand with comfort, we bring you a selection of essential oils that are the perfect companion to all athletes. 

 

Use both before and after workout, to warm up and prepare your body but also to relieve post-workout tension, muscle aches and pains.

INFORMATION

The choice of oils:

 

AS A CARRIER OIL TO DILUTE YOUR ATHLETES/SPORT ESSENTIAL OILS:

 

ARNICA MACERATED carrier oil is well known to help improve circulation and reduce bumps and bruises, hematomas, and oedemas. It has anti-inflammatory properties and soothes muscle and tendon tension.

THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL OILS ARE THE ACTIVE, ATHLETES AND DARE-DEVILS BEST FRIENDS:

 

Wintergreen essential oil is mainly composed of methyl salicylate molecules and is renowned for its properties to dilate capillaries, increase blood circulation (hence the heat sensation and redness of the skin) and numb the pains (analgesic)  especially in cases of acute joint and muscular aches. It is also known to be a powerful muscle relaxant (antispasmodic), and it will help relaxes involuntary muscle contractions, cramps, and spams. The essential oil Wintergreen essential oil is used to help prepare muscle for effort and to relieve stress thanks its warming action.

 

Eucalyptus Citriodora essential oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It comes naturally recommended to fight overall body, joint and muscle strains.

 

Lavandin essential oil is particularly well known for its calming, anxiolytic and sedative properties, that will help relax your entire body and boost the other oils effects.

 

Peppermint essential oil for its “ice” cooling action on the skin.

 

Amyris Essential Oil is traditionally used as an overall lymphatic and venous, circulatory, cardiotonic decongestant 

MIXING

To mix your own sport massage oil (to prepare or ease muscles, joints, tensions...)

 

In 3 tablespoons (30 mL) of Arnica carrier oil

 

Add 4 drops of Peppermint, 28 drops of Eucalyptus citriodora, 28 drops of Wintergreen, 28 drops of lavandin, and 28 drops of Amyris.

 

Close your bottle, shake, and label. 

 

Your massage oil is ready to use

USE FOR

Massage on over-stretched, pulling, strained or sensitive areas (legs, arms, etc.)

 

before your work-out: as a muscular awakening before your warm-up/stretching session. This massage should not last more than 10 minutes. Apply in quick friction and sliding pressure to warm up your muscles. 

 

after work-out: Stretch well, apply on cleaned skin and massage for about 15 to 20 minutes.

 

Apply in slow, sliding, pressure to deeply loosen your muscle(s) and promote blood circulation and repair micro lesions responsible for aches and pains. Then knead your muscle to relieve muscle pain

 

Should you choose just a spot treatment, use 1 drop of the essential oil for 4 drops or carrier oil

 

Feel free to use the Arnica oil by itself as it carries its own anti-inflammatory properties

CAUTION

Do not use during the first 3 months of pregnancy / breastfeeding 

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

As a general rule, always perform a skin patch test before using your essential oils for the first time.

 

DO NOT USE UNDILUTED and seek medical and specialist advise when in doubt

 

Wintergreen should not be used by people on anticoagulant therapy, or allergic to salicylic acid (aspirin…) nor by people with eczema, asthma, ulcer, hernia, hemorrhage, or having to undergo surgery 

Always perform the allergic test with your mixed oil in the crease of your elbow before further use.
