Synergies | Recipes - Eczema - Gentle Skin Balm
- 8 drops Helichrysum essential oil (Helichrysum italicum)
- 8 drops Bergamot essential oil (Citrus bergamia)
- 1 oz Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii)
- 1 oz Coconut Oil Butter (Cocos nucifera)
- 1 oz Beeswax (Cera alba)
Mixing Instructions: In a double boiler, gently melt the Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, and Beeswax together. Once fully melted, remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Add Helichrysum and Bergamot essential oils and mix thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a clean jar or tin, and let it cool and solidify before use.
Caution: When using essential oils, it is crucial to always dilute them with a carrier oil or in a diffuser, as applying undiluted oils directly to the skin may cause irritation or adverse reactions.
Additionally, it is highly recommended to perform a patch test before using any essential oil for the first time.
To conduct a patch test, dilute a small amount of the essential oil in a carrier oil and apply it to a small area of your skin. Wait for 24 hours to observe any signs of redness, itching, or irritation.
If you experience any adverse reactions, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Remember, essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts and should be used with caution to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
