MORE INFORMATION
Kalahari Desert Salt is a natural, unrefined form of sodium chloride harvested from the Kalahari Desert in South Africa (near Upington, in the Northern Cape province, close to the borders with Namibia and Botswana). Like all natural salts (including sea salt, Himalayan salt, and other mineral salts), it is primarily composed of sodium chloride (>95% NaCl).
Why We Use Kalahari Desert Salt in Our Scrubs
Kalahari Desert Salt is selected for our scrubs because of its purity, gentle abrasive quality, and clean origin.
- Effective Exfoliation: The salt's fine, naturally occurring crystals efficiently remove dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling smooth and refreshed.
- Unprocessed and Pure: This salt is unrefined and free from additives or anti-caking agents, providing a straightforward ingredient suitable for skincare use.
- Microplastic-Free: Because Kalahari Desert Salt is sourced from ancient underground deposits far from modern pollution, there is virtually no risk of contamination from microplastics—something increasingly found in many sea salts harvested from contemporary oceans.
- Trace Minerals: While it does contain small amounts of natural minerals, its primary function in the formula is to deliver reliable, physical exfoliation.
We use Kalahari Desert Salt for its dependable texture and natural origin, which help our scrubs perform effectively and offer a straightforward and clean exfoliation experience.
