Ancient Egyptians, who used to wear wigs, have been reported to protect and appease shaved scalp from itches and dryness with daily applications of castor oil.

Today castor oil is used to fortify hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows and, in manicure to strengthen nails and nourish damaged hands.
