The Natural Solubiliser works for the entire spectrum of light, oil-soluble aromatic raw materials used in aromatherapy, cosmetics, and natural perfumery:

• Pure Essential Oils: Steam-distilled and cold-pressed citrus peel oils (Lavender, grapefruit, lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Peppermint, etc.).
• Natural Fragrance Oils: clean fragrance oils (and, if you use them, Plant-derived aromatic molecules like Linalool, Geraniol, Vanillin).
• Absolutes & Resins: such as Rose, Jasmine, Champaca...absolutes- please see the note on thick aromatic oils in the instructions of uses below.

Standard Blending Ratio: Pre-mix 3 to 5 parts Natural Base Solubiliser to 1-part essential oil or plant extract (e.g., 3:1 to 5:1 ratio by weight/volume). For heavier wood or resin oils, a ratio of up to 6:1 or 8:1 may be required to achieve complete clarity.

Recommended Application Usage Ranges:

Blending Steps:

1. Combine your essential oils and Natural Base Solubiliser in a clean beaker or mixing bottle.
2. Stir thoroughly until the mixture becomes homogenous and completely clear.
3. Slowly pour in your water phase (pure distilled water, hydrosols, or aloe vera juice) while stirring gently.

How to Make thick absolutes (like labdanum, benzoin...) work.

Thick resinoids and viscous extracts like Benzoin, Labdanum and Peru Balsam can be challenging because they contain natural plant waxes and heavy molecules. While light oils (like Sweet Orange or Lavender) dissolve easily at a 1:4 ratio, thick resins require a bit of tweaking to achieve a clean result:

• Gentle Heat (Crucial Step): Place the thick oil bottle in a warm water bath (around 40–45°C) to reduce its viscosity before measuring.
• Increase the Natural Solubiliser ratio: Jump to a 1: 5 to a 1: 6 ratio (1 part absolute to 5–6 parts solubilizer).
• Intensive Pre-Mix: Blend the warmed absolute directly into the solubilizer for a full 1–2 minutes until completely uniform and homogeneous before adding a single drop of water.
• Pre-Dilute Absolutes/Resins: If your Benzoin or Labdanum is already mobile (you have pre-diluted it in alcohol*), it dissolves much faster and clearer.

*If you are using your own pre-diluted absolutes, make sure they are diluted in alcohol—not in fixed carrier oils like Jojoba or Almond. Carrier oils will cause your water-based mists and toners to turn cloudy and separate.

What to Expect in your final product

• Clarity vs. Colour: The natural solubilizer will successfully dissolve aromatic compounds so they don't separate or float on top, but natural, dark pigments (like the deep amber of Labdanum or Benzoin) will tint the water golden-brown. It will be transparent, not water white.
• Wax Fallout (Filtration): Raw, thick absolutes and resinoids sometimes contain insoluble natural plant waxes. If a faint haze persists after mixing with water, let it rest for 24 hours and pass it through a simple unbleached coffee filter or paper filter to pull out the waxy particles, leaving a clear aromatic water.

Hydrating Rose & Geranium Facial Mist (for 100 ml)

• 92 ml Damask Rose Hydrosol
• 4 ml Vegetable Glycerine
• 3 ml Natural Base Solubiliser
• 8 drops Rose Geranium Essential Oil

Thoroughly stir the essential oil into the Natural Base Solubiliser until clear. Gradually blend in the rose hydrosol, and vegetable glycerine. Bottle in a 100 ml glass spray bottle.

Gentle Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water (for 100 ml)

• 88 ml Cape Chamomile Hydrosol (or Water)
• 4 ml Aloe Vera Liquid (1:1)
• 3 ml Vegetable Glycerine
• 4 ml Natural Base Solubiliser
• 4 drops French Lavender Essential Oil

Blend the lavender essential oil with the Natural Base Solubiliser until clear. Slowly stir in the hydrosol, aloe vera liquid, glycerine without creating excess foam. Pour into a 100 ml bottle with a pump or disc cap.

Restful Evening Pillow & Linen Mist (for 100 ml)

• 90 ml Hydrosol (Lavender…or Water)
• 2.5 ml Natural Base Solubiliser
• 8 drops True Lavender Essential Oil
• 4 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil
• 2 drops Atlas Cedarwood Essential Oil

Mix the essential oils with the Natural Base Solubiliser in a beaker until homogenous. Pour in the distilled water while stirring continuously, then transfer into a 100 ml fine-mist atomiser.

Purifying Herbal Scalp Mist (for 100 ml)

• 93 ml Rosemary Hydrosol
• 2 ml Natural Base Solubiliser
• 5 drops Rosemary Verbenone Essential Oil
• 3 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
• 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Pre-mix the essential oils with the Natural Base Solubiliser. Slowly stir into the rosemary hydrosol and pour into a 100 ml spray bottle.

• Hydrosols & Floral Waters (Damask Rose, Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Rosemary): To formulate clear facial waters and refreshing body spritzes.
• Essential Oils (Lavender, Sweet Orange, Bergamot FCF, Frankincense, Tea Tree, Bourbon Geranium): For uniform, stable dispersion in water without phase separation.
• Humectants & Actives like Vegetable Glycerine, Aloe vera gel, Hyaluronic acid, vitamin serums (C, B3) and all herbal Tinctures suitable for skin applications: To build skin hydration and conditioning properties in water-based cosmetic bases.
