MELALEUCA ALTERNIFOLIA
Tea tree Essential oil is another Must have in any households.
The Aboriginal Australians have used tea trees as a traditional source of wellbeing in a multitude of ways. They applied the leaves on wounds and used leaves to purify water. They brewed an infusion (Tea) of the fresh leaves, to drink and soothe sore throats, as well as to make topical compresses to calm insect bites and stings. Populations inhaled the oil from the crushed leaves to ease coughs and colds. During WWII, the Australian government included a bottle of tea tree essential oil in first-aid kits issued to the army.
Today the wonderful all-round properties of Tea tree are recognized scientifically and used the world over.
