Ravintsara, Ho-Wood and Camphor essential oils all come from the same plant, namely Cinnamomum camphora, the Camphor tree.

Depending on where the Camphor tree grows (or any plant species, really), it develops specific biochemical characteristic (called chemotypes) proper to insure its survival, defences, and reproduction in that environment.

Ravintsara – meaning “the leaf that is good for you”- is the name given by the people of Madagascar to their Camphor tree. Originating from Asia and introduced to Madagascar, it has adapted, and developed its own specific biochemical composition. Ravintsara essential oils, distilled from the leaves, is high in cineole (1.8 cineole (eucalyptol) and has no camphor.

(Camphor oil comes from Vietnam and is high in camphor, while Ho-wood grows in china and its essential oil is high in linalool)

The perfect all-natural defense against colds and flu!

This little bottle of Ravintsara saved and protected us all throughout winter! We add a few drops into our oil diffuser and it keeps our home smelling fresh and protecting us against possible ailments. We were also recommended to add just 1 drop to our masks to help our protect and strengthen our respiratory system - not only does it help clear your sinuses but kept us healthy and flu-free. The perfect addition to our family pharmacy cupboard! Highly recommend. Thank you eOil for keeping my family protected!

I'm using Ravintsara in my mask

I know that Eucalyptus can have a protective effect against viruses but I found after some research that Ravintsara is even more powerful. I'm using it (one drop) in my mask when going out in places where I will interact with people. It smells nice, helps me breath beneath my mask and hopefully will protect me a bit more against potential viruses. Thank you eoil for all your good products. I'm starting now to get a nice range of your products and i really enjoy them !
