Witch hazel hydrosol, a gentle botanical water derived from the steam distillation of witch hazel leaves and twigs, is a versatile addition to any aromatherapy practice.

Renowned for its astringent and anti-inflammatory properties, it can help to soothe and refresh the skin, making it an ideal ingredient in facial toners and aftershave products.

The natural tannins in witch hazel hydrosol can help to tighten pores and reduce redness, while its calming effect can help to alleviate minor skin irritations.

Alcohol-free witch hazel hydrosol is a gentler option suitable for sensitive skin and can be used as a hydrating mist or added to DIY skincare formulations.

Witch hazel hydrosol with alcohol typically contains a small percentage of naturally-occurring or added alcohol, which acts as a preservative and can enhance the astringent properties.

This type is often used in products designed to address oily or acne-prone skin.

PROPERTIES

Hydrosols retain the exact same active molecules as their essential oil’s counterpart.

It is their lower concentration in the molecules and the fact is that they are mostly composed of water that makes them softer to use as an alternative to most delicate and sensitive skins…even babies and pregnant women (after the 3rd month)

CAUTION the same caution applies as far as allergies to a plant and medical conditions goes.

Always make a patch test and discontinue use if reactions occur.
