Description

Myrrh organic essential oil is steam distilled from the wild resin (gum) of the Commiphora myrrha tree, native to Somalia.

Treasured since ancient times, myrrh is the very definition of grounding wisdom—offering a warm, sweet-earthy, and resinous aroma.

Myrrh is revered for its skin-healing, emotional balancing, and immune-supporting benefits, making it a staple oil for spiritual, cosmetic, and therapeutic use.

Key Benefits & High-Intent Features

  • Skin Healing & Rejuvenation: Known for its rejuvenating, skin-soothing properties, myrrh is often blended into balms and creams for mature, dry, chapped, or irritated skin. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, scars, and wounds; soothes eczema and infections; supports skin’s natural healing.

  • Emotional Calm & Meditation: Used in diffusers or natural incense, myrrh’s grounding aroma brings tranquility, focus, and a sense of peace, helping reduce stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm—perfect for meditation and spiritual practice.

  • Pain & Inflammation Relief: Myrrh oil contains strong anti-inflammatory and mild analgesic qualities, making it ideal in massage oils or compresses for sore muscles, arthritis, swelling, and general aches.

  • Antioxidant, Antibacterial, Antifungal: Provides protection against free radicals, supports immune defense, and helps purify air, wounds, or skin. Its antiseptic and antifungal properties are valued in wound care and for promoting oral hygiene.

  • Expectorant & Immune Booster: Supports immune health, helps relieve congestion, and soothes coughs and upper respiratory tract symptoms when diffused or inhaled.

  • Perfumery & Blending: A famous base note in natural perfumery, myrrh adds depth, richness, and fixative power to blends—pairs beautifully with frankincense, sandalwood, patchouli, and lavender.

  • Oral Health: Traditionally added (diluted) to mouth rinses or toothpaste to boost gum and oral health due to antimicrobial action and soothing flavor.

  • Spiritual, Ritual & Emotional Energy: Sap from the “Tears of Myrrh” gives a sense of sacredness and ritual, believed to “shield the spirit” and foster emotional resilience.

Quality for cost

This oil is very thick and has a great aroma. It works well with Frankincense oil and is very high quality for the cost.

We use it in combination of other essential oils to alleviate muscle stiffness in our daughter with Cerebral Palsy.
