MORE INFO
Eucalyptus globulus takes its name from the globe-like fruits it produces.
Commonly known as the Blue Gum eucalyptus, it is a 30 to 55m tall evergreen tree, endemic to Australia.
Eucalyptus globulus is commercially planted worldwide, including in South Africa, to produce paper and various wood manufactured products.
Eucalyptus leaves have been used in traditional medicine wherever they grow, to help with bronchitis, rhinopharyngitis or sinusitis, and in case of phlegmy cough and stuffy noses.
Among eucalyptus essential oils, Eucalyptus Globulus is considered the most effective for the respiratory lower sphere. Its expectorant action is remarkable.
However, this powerful, penetrating essential oil is best reserved for adults uses and is not recommended for people subject to asthma.
For children and sensitive persons, choose a softer Eucalyptus oil like E. citriodora or E. radiata.
