ODOUR NOTE: Middle to base note. Intense (undiluted/from bottle), long lasting (on perfumer’s strip). Fresh, fruity-sweet aroma with tangy/tarty notes reminiscent of blackcurrant berries. Green and slightly herbaceous and earthy undertones.

INSTRUCTION OF USE

Blackcurrant bud absolute oil can be used in various ways, depending on the purpose and desired outcome. The absolute is a very concentrated extract and must be highly diluted to diffuse its lovely delicious fruity aroma with justice. 

You may opt to dilute it first (in a carrier oil or a perfumer’s base (if making perfumes) at 50% and use that dilution in your creation. (Ex: in a dark glass bottle, add10 drops absolute to 10 drops carrier oil, shake to blend, close, and let infuse in a dark place for a few hours or until needed. Then use only a few drops of that blend in your perfumed preparation) 

Below are safe percentages to use, as indication only, should you choose to blend the absolute oil directly into your end product. Remember, use with parsimony. To exhale the true aroma of blackcurrant bud absolute, a little drop goes a long way…

 

Face care, skin-related benefits (1 to 3 drops absolute oil for 10 ml carrier or base (0.5 to 1 % concentration)

  • Body massages: to experience the relaxing and grounding effects, add a few drops of blackcurrant bud absolute oil to one/or a blend of carrier oil (body oil, jojoba, Macadamia,) and use it for a soothing massage. To help alleviate stress, anxiety, and muscle tension use up to18 drops per 30 ml carrier oil (3%). 

Bath: add a few drops of the diluted blackcurrant bud absolute oil to a warm bath for a calming and therapeutic soak. First mix the absolute oil with a carrier oil or a dispersant (shower gel, castile soap), to ensure even distribution in the water. Up to 15 drops of absolute oil with 30 ml (2 Tablespoons) of vegetable glycerine or 1 cup of Epsom salts.

 

Diffusion

To enjoy the calming and mood-enhancing effects of blackcurrant bud absolute oil, you can diffuse it using an essential oil diffuser or add a few drops to a bowl of hot water. 

  • Ultrasonic Diffusers:  use 10 min 3 times a day.
  • Inhalation: add a few drops of diluted blackcurrant bud absolute oil to a bowl of hot water and inhale the steam.
  •  Alternatively, you can inhale the aroma directly from the bottle or by placing a drop on a cotton ball or tissue.
